The newly appointed military ombudsman responded to allegations of a trip to occupied Crimea in 2015. On her Facebook page, Olga Reshetylova reminded that she is a human rights defender and in 2016 she also went to the court of Ukrainian political prisoners in Chechnya.

– Friends, have you tried to rest in the Crimea in December?) Do you think it is very comfortable?) And seriously, for those who learned about my existence only yesterday. I have been engaged in journalistic investigations and human rights protection since 2015 year Unfortunately, this work is not only done where it is safe. In December 2015, we went to Crimea (across the Ukrainian administrative border) to document the enforced disappearance of Crimeans, which resulted in several major investigations. Here is the column I wrote about it at the request of InfoResist (I apologize for the Russian language, apparently they did not have a Ukrainian version then), she said.

Regarding Chechnya Reshetylova wrote that in March 2016 she went to Grozny for the trial of political prisoners Mykola Karpyuk and Stanislav Klykh.

– On the car of the Ukrainian consulate, accompanied by Ukrainian diplomats. I made materials about it for several publications, so I found it for “Left Bank”. These were very dangerous trips. We might not come back. But they were important, because at that time practically no one talked about what Russia was doing with kidnapped Ukrainian civilians. And it had to be shown. I am proud of this work and those people who were close to me, she said.

Olga Reshetylova added that if there was even the slightest opportunity to go to the trials of prisoners of war from Azov, Aidarov, marines and other our defenders, she would go without hesitation.
