The American company Maxar Intelligence has presented the Sentry analytical service that uses satellite images and AI to monitor and analyze patterns in data.
According to CEO Maxar Intelligence Dana, the service will help, for example, to detect preparation for satellite launch or analyze threats to energy infrastructure after catastrophes.
The platform aggregates data from its own Maxar satellites and partnership groups. The information is compared with an archive of more than 250 PBs collected for 20 years. According to the director of Peter Vilchinsky’s product, this allows you to analyze logistics and movement of objects, for example, to identify the supply of fentanyl precursors through Mexico ports.
Sentry is already used in government programs. Maxar has received an order from the US Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) for the identification of aircraft, ships, transport and railway cars, as well as the detection of trends and anomalies.
Maxar emphasizes that analytics based on images is of higher value than just images that are increasingly commercialized.
Recall that Google, in conjunction with the non -profit organization Earth Fire Alliance and Muon Space Satellite Satellites, deploy a Fire Sat project – a system for satellite fire monitoring with the use of AI for image processing.
