In Ukraine, 5G was initiated for the first time – testing in Lviv, the next cities are Borodyanka and Kharkiv, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced this in Telegram, reports UNN.
Details “Today, 5G testing began in the very heart of Lviv. The main advantage of this technology is the speed of data transmission – about 500 Mbit/s per user, – wrote Fedorov. – Lviv is becoming a technological platform that will allow us to work out all technical issues before nationwide implementation. The city is distinguished by one of the highest levels of distribution of 5G-compatible smartphones in Ukraine.”
According to him, at the moment, more than 20 5G base stations have been erected in Lviv.
“After agreements with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a successful test of the technology, we will expand the testing. In January, 5G will work in Borodyanka, in February – in Kharkiv, and later in other populated areas of Ukraine,” said Fedorov.
“While the enemy seeks to destroy our infrastructure, we continue to improve and build Ukraine on the basis of the latest technologies. The start of 5G testing is a clear signal to the world that Ukraine is heading for the future,” Fedorov emphasized.
