Lisk developers have announced the launch of the second level solution of the same name on Ethereum and the airdrop of LSK tokens. Company representatives informed The Block publication about this.
The new network will focus on working with tokenized assets (RWA) and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN). According to the developers, the transition to L2 will make the blockchain more accessible to users and simplify the scaling of the network in the future.
In honor of the launch of the mainnet, Lisk will conduct an airdrop of 15 million LSK tokens. The first round will start on November 21, 2024 and will last for 4 months.
The amount of the stamp for an individual user will depend on his activity on the platform. The developers will offer a number of tasks to the willing, for the completion of which points will be awarded. The amount of distributed tokens depends on the number of the latter.
“We designed this airdrop to be seamless, engaging, educational, and even fun, reflecting our mission to create easy-to-use and useful Web3 applications,” said COO Lisk Dominik Schwenter in The Block commentary.
Against the background of the news, the price of LSK exceeded the mark of $1. At the time of publication, the token is trading at $0.95.

Created in 2016, the Lisk network originally existed as a classic L1 blockchain. In 2023, the team decided to transform into L2 and integrate with the Ethereum ecosystem.
The new network was built on the OP Stack framework from Optimism with the participation of RaaS-Gelato platforms. Since February 2024, the L2 version of Lisk has been working in test mode.
It will be recalled that in October the Kraken exchange revealed details about its own second-level solution Ink, focused on lending services.
