On June 24, 2025, a press conference of the leader of the party “Power of the Nation” Andriy Pelyukhovsky “Responsibility of the Citizen to the State, the responsibility of the state to the citizen” was held at the premises of the information agency “Ukrinform”. The main attention of the speakers was focused on the recently adopted law, which introduces the Institute of Multiple Citizenship in Ukraine.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Power of the Nation Andriy Pelyukhovsky said: “The adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Law No. 11469, which allows Ukrainians have several citizenships at the same time, became the subject of deep concern among state -minded forces. The National Political Party of the nation unambiguously considers this law a dangerous concession, which opens the way to loss of control over statehood, national security and identity of the Ukrainian people. Being a citizen of Ukraine is to work for the benefit of Ukraine, to defend Ukraine. And if there are several citizens? Can a person be a patriot of several states? ”
According to Andrei Pelyukhovsky, citizenship should be the only and unambiguous act of loyalty to his country. Law 11469 undermines this understanding by turning citizenship into a declarative formal status that has no legal force in critical situations.
The Nation Party emphasizes that in conditions where institutions are weakened by war and inspections – formal, multiple citizenship creates:
- space for foreign influence,
- Ability to escape from responsibility,
- Open doors to the agents of special services of hostile countries that can legally obtain Ukrainian citizenship, hiding their second.
Andriy Pelyukhovsky has repeatedly stated that the legalization of a second citizenship is advantageous primarily by a corrupt political top, which seeks to have a spare plan in case of defeat, collapse of the state or exposure.
“While an ordinary Ukrainian is at war, works, pays taxes and gives the latter for the front – someone else is already preparing a new life abroad, with a Spanish or Canadian passport. Law 11469 is an amnesty for future fugitives, ”the leader of the Nation forces emphasized.
The Nation Party warns of long -term catastrophic consequences:
1. Political destabilization: Multiple citizenship will influence the Ukrainian election field through foreign nationals.
2. Social abyss: access to foreign passports will be a new form of privilege that is unattainable to most Ukrainians.
3. Moral degradation: youth will lose the value of serving the state if “elites” are allowed to be citizens of the world, not Ukraine.
The Power of the Nation requires the immediate abolition of the Law 11469 as contrary to the Constitution, threatens national security and undermines the idea of a single people with a single state. Andriy Pelyukhovsky emphasizes: “Ukraine will not survive if it is dissolved in the passports of other states.”
Law No. 11469 is not a reform, but a surrender to globalism, corruption and stratification of society. At a time when a nation must rally around one goal – victory and restoration, this law works against the idea of a strong, independent, spiritually holistic state.
