The man expressed dissatisfaction with the work of a “smart meter” that does not transmit data autonomously for seven years

The “smart” counter installed in his apartment more than seven years ago, still requires manual application of DTEK data. Automation of the functioning of the device remains an unsolved problem.
“The seventh year (or eight – not for sure) is called the counter, but without my participation it does not send the indicators. During these years, they have never coped with automation, possibly because of a small number of apartments in the house – only 28, ”the client recalled.
DTEK’s response Representatives of the company noted that the process of integration of automated systems of commercial accounting of electricity is ongoing throughout the capital.

Why do two -zone meters not transmit data unauthorized? Yasno specialists have previously explained that consumers sometimes deceptively identify two -zone counters with “smart”. In fact, these are devices with different functionality:
- “Smart” meters are part of an automated commercial accounting system (ASCOE). They autonomously convey not only consumption data, but also information about accidents, overload, technical failures. Such a device can be one -zone or two -zone. The replacement of ordinary meters with “smart” in multi -storey buildings is usually carried out comprehensively for all apartments.
- Two -zone meters – fix energy consumption separately for day and night periods (from 23:00 to 07:00). At night consumption there is a reduced tariff. If this meter is not integrated into ASCOE, its indicators will not be transmitted automatically – consumers have to report the data on a monthly basis, separately in two tariff areas.
According to DTEK, about 28,000 “smart” devices have been installed in the capital since 2025. This is not a simple replacement of equipment, but part of the global ASCOE system that enables:
- automatically register the use of electricity;
- send information without the user’s involvement;
- promptly detect technical malfunctions.
