Kharkiv military prosecutor Verbytskyi keeps his wealth and property a secret, media reports.

The press paid close attention to the lifestyle of the head of the Kharkiv Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the defense sector. Military prosecutor Dmytro Verbytskyi does not indicate where he lives, which is why he ignores the provisions of the declaration. In addition, he may be using someone else’s premium car, which he also does not mention in the declaration, although he owns two others.

From the declaration of the Kharkiv military prosecutor Dmytro Volodymyrovych Verbytskyi (not to be confused with his full name – the Odesa prosecutor, about whom there was a lot of media coverage), one can see from real estate only on the basis of the right of use a country house (95 square meters) in the Kyiv region and a plot of land (1643 square meters) below it, which belong to the prosecutor’s mother.

Since the prosecutor works in Kharkiv, it is unlikely that he lives in the Kyiv region either at work or in his car (especially in such weather conditions). Remote work from the Kyiv region is not an option for a prosecutor in Kharkiv. However, in the declaration, he does not indicate his temporary accommodation in Kharkiv, which he rents or uses for free. And this is a violation of the requirements for declaring wealth. He also does not indicate in the declaration where his wife and two children live.

The place of residence and place of registration is indicated by prosecutor Verbytskyi in Kyiv (the address should not be known to outsiders). This is understandable, because from 2012 to 2023 he worked at the Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv. However, at the same time, the declaration also lacks any mention of real estate in Kyiv. In previous years, the prosecutor noted that he used the MIA dormitory in the capital, but now, apparently, not.

Note that according to the explanations of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC), the deliberate concealment of wealth or the provision of knowingly false data in an electronic declaration may be qualified, depending on the price of the property, as a violation of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Unreliable declaration”) or Part 4 of Art. 172-6 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses (“Violation of financial control requirements”). And similar offenses in the declarations can lead to a fine, in some cases – community service or imprisonment with the deprivation of the opportunity to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities.

The media reports that Prosecutor Verbytsky can actually live in the elite “Residence” residential complex in the center of Kharkiv. We checked: his relatives also have no real estate in this complex. However, the salary of the prosecutor could allow to rent housing. According to OLX, apartments there can now be rented for UAH 34,300/month. And Verbytsky’s salary in 2024 was UAH 99,544/month – or UAH 1,194,528 per year. In 2025, the salary was even higher, but Verbytskyi has not yet submitted a declaration for that year.

Residential complex “Residence” in Kharkiv

The prosecutor has $5,000 in cash from his savings. And he spent 168,000 hryvnias to pay alimony for his daughter, who does not live with him.

The next thing that caused the indignation of journalists, activists and bloggers was the vehicles of Kharkiv military prosecutor Dmytro Verbytskyi. According to the official declaration, since 2024 he is the owner of an electric car Tesla Model S (2018), which he bought for 400 thousand hryvnias. Back in January 2024, he started using the Audi E-Tron (2019), which belongs to his father.

However, the mass media note that Dmytro Verbytsky may be driving a Toyota Sequoia. His relatives do not have such an SUV. We looked in the YouControl analytical system – the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Defense Sector of the Eastern Region (to which Verbytsky reports) does not mention such a vehicle among its employees either. If the prosecutor really uses someone’s car, he must indicate it in the declaration for 2025. Otherwise, it will also be a violation for NAZK, as in cases with real estate.

Moreover, the media claim that prosecutor Verbytskyi went on vacation in this vehicle in December-January to the Kyiv region and allegedly used about 500 liters of fuel worth more than 30,000 hryvnias for his own needs using official cards (that is, it was paid for from the budget) to refuel this vehicle. According to rumors published by the mass media, the vehicle may belong to businessmen connected with the Azerbaijani diaspora.
