On the night of December 16, Israeli military aircraft struck military facilities in the Syrian port city of Tartus, which is home to a Russian naval base and a ship repair plant. As The Times of Israel writes, the attack was concentrated on a number of facilities in Tartus and the Syrian province of Latakia.
Israeli mass media report that as a result of the airstrikes, there are hits on objects connected with the Russian military. In particular, in the base that was used naval forces of the Russian Federation, as well as a military ship repair plant.
– Israeli warplanes struck a number of objects, including air defense units and warehouses of “surface-to-surface” missiles, – reports the Syrian Center for Monitoring Human Rights. According to his data, these were the strongest strikes on the coastal region of Syria since 2012.
