The law on promoting the reduction of emissions into the atmosphere (Flare Act) provides for the disposal for the purpose of mining the so -called heavy -productive natural gas. This category, in addition to economically disadvantages for the development of deposits, includes associated gas, which due to the unprofitability of commercialization is burned in torches in oil industries.

The senator proposes to fully compensate for the cost of equipment for bitcoin producers who organized electricity production from these sources. According to Cruise, it decentralizes the generation, and will increase the stability of the energy network during periods of peak demand or extreme weather conditions.

“This bill uses the huge energy potential of Texas, strengthens our positions as a home for bitcoin industry and is useful for the environment,” the politician said.

Cruise confirmed the commitment of “State Transformation to the number one for mining”. Flare Act stimulates entrepreneurs to use natural gas, which otherwise it would be wasted, he added.

The bill was supported by the Digital Power Network. Gayli Miller’s Director of Relations with Government and Public Policy, Miller noted that the document opens up opportunities for “energy innovations in the United States”.

“Completely compensating for the cost of infrastructure that captures and uses burned gas, the bill creates strong incentives for industries, including the production of bitcoin, productively use a senseless energy that strengthens the network and stimulates economic growth,” she stressed.

Recall that in 2024 the Natural Protection Organization of Greenpeaceusa without publicity completed its campaign “Change the code” aimed at combating pollution from cryptocurrency mining.
