In Kiev, they said goodbye to the first Prime Minister of Ukraine Vitold Fokin. Singer Masha Fokin’s granddaughter and publisher Igor Stepurin reported this in their social networks.

Singer Masha Fokin’s grandson, published a photo from a ceremony in her stories on Instagram. As the public writes, The farewell ceremony took place in a small circle of relatives, closest friends and colleagues. Masha Fokin’s granddaughter and son Igor Fokin were present.

The farewell ceremony was held at the Cabinet of Ministers Club at Institute Street. The church service was held at the Michael’s Golden -Domed Cathedral. The politician was buried in the Baykovo Cemetery.

Vitold Fokin was one of the signatories of the Belovezhsky Agreement on the Elimination of the USSR. On August 24, 1991 he became the Prime Minister of Ukraine, before that he was the Prime Minister of the USSR. In 1992 he resigned. In 2020 he was part of the Ukrainian delegation to settle the situation in the Donbass, headed by the first President Leonid Kravchuk.

On March 27, 2022, during a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, one of the Russian missiles hit Fokin’s house. He was not injured because he was in Moldova at that time.

  • On March 19 in Odessa, they said goodbye to activist Demyan Ganul, shot dead in the city center.
