The first seal, which contained the manuscript of the Harappan writing, was discovered in 1875.
It is noted that the Harappan writing was invented by the civilization of the Indus Valley, which originated in the region covering Northern India and Pakistan, about 5300 years ago. Known for its enclosed walls, the culture of the bronze era has flourished for several centuries before the mysterious disappear.
The first seal, which contained the manuscript of the Harappan writing, was discovered by the founder of the archeological service of India, Sear Alexander Kanningem, in 1875, were shared in the publication. A bull image was engraved on the stone plate, which depicted two stars and six characters that could not decipher the linguists.
Since then, archaeologists have found several thousand such samples, each of which depicts a central animal and a short sequence of characters, told in the publication. Most often, these manuscripts consist of four to six signs.
The publication emphasized that one of the main problems is that Harappa writing is not found on any famous multilingual artifact. Therefore, linguists cannot compare manuscripts with other artifacts.
In order to accelerate the decryption process, the Chief Minister of the Indian state Tamilnadhwhuwell Karunanidi, Stalin has declared a prize of one million dollars to understand what the symbols in the manuscripts of Harapppe writing mean.
The publication reminded that a similar reward was announced in 2023 to those who would take the Vesuvian call and be able to decipher ancient writing in a series of charred scrolls from Herculaum.
