Moldova citizens are transported from Russia to Belarus to vote in the parliamentary elections in Moldova, which is a violation of the law. This was reported by Moldova police on Facebook.
– The organized movement of voters is forbidden by law and is considered an attempt to illegally influence the electoral process, – the message reads.
The police also released a video from the bus where music sounds, and people with covered faces are poured into cups. Moldova’s police stressed that Law enforcement officers take measures to identify persons involved in these actions and prevent such incidents.
The Belarusian State Agency of Belta also noted that in the Moldova Embassy in Belarus, where the polling station operates, the citizens of Moldova living in Russia. This is due to the fact that only two polling stations located in Moscow work in Russia, and they cannot cope with the number of Moldovan citizens who want to vote in the parliamentary elections.
On September 28, parliamentary elections will be held in Moldova, the results of which will largely determine the further course of development of the country. The main struggle is between the leading pro -European party and solidarity (PAS) and the pro -Russian patriotic block.
Elections are considered a critical stage for the future of Moldova, a candidate country for entry into the EU. PAS, founded by the current President of Moldova, I have Sandu, has a parliamentary majority since 2021. However, according to the results of sociological surveys, PAS may lose this advantage. Analysts indicate that the need to form a coalition government will complicate the achievement of PAS’s goal – the integration of Moldova into the EU by 2030.
Before the Sandu’s election, she called on the citizens to support the pro -European forces, emphasizing that Russia was investing significant funds to ensure the commitment of its personnel to power. She noted that Moscow is allocating hundreds of millions of dollars, trying to buy the voices of Moldovan voters. Sandu also reported that in the event of the victory of the pro -Russian forces, Moldova risks to be cut off from Europe and can become a bridgehead for Russian military operations in the Odessa region.
