The so-called “president” of the occupied Georgian Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, has written a resignation letter. As reported in the official Telegram of the press service of the “head” of Abkhazia, the decision was made based on the results of negotiations between representatives of the opposition and the “authorities of the republic”.

Protests in the republic arose because of the “investment agreement” with Russia. So far, the protesters and the “authorities” have agreed that the former will leave the complex of government buildings in Abkhazia on November 19. If they this they will not do that Bzhania’s resignation will be withdrawn.

Also, if the protesters fulfill their demands, the “parliament” of Abkhazia will consider the resignation. In addition to the “president”, Prime Minister Oleksandr Ankvab will also lose his seat, and other people will be elected to their places.

Thus, the acting head of the “republic” will be the “vice president” of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, and the position of the new head of government will be taken by the “ex-prime minister” Valery Bganba. They will perform their duties until the new “president” of the so-called republic takes office.

On November 15, protests broke out in Abkhazia. People came to the building of the “parliament” in Sukhym and opposed the so-called “investment agreement” with the Russian Federation.

  • On November 17, an anti-war march of the Russian opposition took place in Berlin – it was criticized by the Ukrainian authorities
