The duration of long-term medical care for IDPs has been extended to 60 days. The government has increased the period of service provision from 30 to 60 days for IDPs evacuate from dangerous areas. This applies to those who need to continue therapy on the basis of a medical opinion or who do not have options for placement elsewhere. People’s deputy Pavlo Frolov informed about this. The service for IDPs includes: medical and general care; psychological support; social support; free food and accommodation; necessary items of basic needs – clothes, shoes, personal hygiene products. How to get the service: * Contact a medical specialist at the evacuation point, who will provide advice and, if necessary, refer you to the facility.

“Since September 2025, 78 IDPs have used the program. This shows that the program is not working well enough, as more than 20,000 people arrive at the transit centers every month. It is necessary to strengthen the information of displaced people at the evacuation points about the possibility of free health care at the expense of the state,” emphasized Frolov.

More information about the service for IDPs The Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine initiated and developed a resolution to extend the term of long-term nursing care for internally displaced persons from 30 to 60 days, if the person receiving the service needs additional medical care. The Cabinet of Ministers supported the relevant resolution. If there are medical indications for this, the need for continued therapy and a doctor’s opinion or the lack of alternatives for placement in other places, internally displaced persons of older age and with disabilities have the opportunity to receive long-term medical care services in one of the health care facilities within 60 days immediately after evacuation from the zone of active hostilities. Currently, nursing care services are provided by 212 health care institutions that have signed an agreement with the National Health Service. Since the beginning of the experimental project, 78 evacuated internally displaced persons have used the service. The service provides comprehensive support: medical and general care, psychological assistance, accommodation and food, basic essentials, and most importantly, social support.
