Emergency power outages in Ukraine may continue for another week. In some regions, it may take longer long period This was announced on October 16 by the head of Ukrenergo Vitaliy Zaichenko.
“Given the current situation, it will be possible to stabilize it in seven days,” Zaichenko said.
At the same time, he specified that in the current period, emergency shutdowns during the hours of maximum consumption may occur in certain regions.
Turn off the lights We will remind, on October 16 in Ukraine, a difficult situation in the power system caused emergency power outages. Emergency shutdowns are used in many areas. The primary reason for the introduction of restrictions is the consequences of previous Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
In July, the National Bank of Ukraine reported that due to rapid restoration, the electricity deficit in Ukraine will be smaller than previously forecast. The NBU reduced the estimate of the electricity deficit to 1% in 2025. In April, the forecast was three times worse – the deficit was then estimated at 3%.
According to the updated forecast of the National Bank, in 2026 the deficit of electricity, taking into account imports, will remain at the mark of 1%. And in 2027, there will be no need to import electricity at all. Such small amounts of deficit will practically not affect the rate of economic growth. In addition, reducing the need for uninterruptible power supplies will reduce business spending and inflationary pressures.
