Google has added a new mechanism for user protection based on artificial intelligence to the Chrome browser. The company uses its own large language model Gemini Nano to detect fraudulent actions on the Internet and plans to introduce new warnings about spam notification on Android.

Chrome enhanced safety mode provides the “highest level of protection” from phishing and other online threats, warning of potentially dangerous sites-in particular those that have not been recorded before.
“Gemini Nano is ideal for this task through the ability to analyze the complex and diverse nature of web resources, which allows us to respond faster to new fraudulent tactics,” the company said.
Protection also applies to Push notifications that can send phishing sites. If AI suspects the risk, Chrome will warn the user about the questionable message.
