Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo said that the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Liaan called him a “full idiot” and then said it was a joke.

On Monday, Fitzo stated at a press conference that the President of the European Commission “quarreled” him through duties, which US President Donald Trump plans to introduce for Europe, TA3 writes.

Said me awful, quarreled. “Robert, what did you do, why did you agree with Trump? ” She scolded me for half an hour, they say, I was a full idiot, ”he said, not hiding her irony.

Already in the evening, Fitzo wrote on Facebook that he believes that the President of the European Commission “has understood the joke” at today’s press conference.

“I’m afraid that the Slovak media and the opposition of this joke will not be understood,” he said, accusing them of claiming that he did nothing so that the United States did not impose duties “against the whole world.”

At a press conference, Fitzo said that the US duties against Europe would first and foremost harm auto production in Slovakia. According to him, the opposition accuses Fitzo of not trying to discuss duties during his visit to the United States. The Prime Minister in response compared himself with other world leaders.

“I do not feel as strong as France President and China President,” he said, adding that future duties should influence the whole world.

  • On February 1, Guri refuted Fitzo’s statement about allegedly “involvement” in protests in Slovakia.
  • On January 17, at the invitation of Zelensky, the leader of the Slovak opposition arrived at the invitation of Zelensky.
