She filed a corresponding civil lawsuit in court.
As it became known from the broadcast of the meeting, the corresponding statement of claim of the panel of judges of the Shevchenkiv District Court of Lviv, where the consideration of the merits of the case about Farion’s murder began today, was submitted by the Person’s lawyer Nataliya Romanyk.
“Sofia Osoba wants to exercise her right and file a civil lawsuit for compensation for moral damages in the amount of UAH 15 million. She will provide her explanations when she is questioned as a civil plaintiff and a victim,” said Farion’s daughter’s lawyer.
The panel of judges decided to accept the claim.
The defense also received a copy of the document. She asked for an adjournment for her consideration.
In a comment to journalists, Sofia Osoba said that these funds will be directed to the needs of the Armed Forces, in particular, for the military unit where her husband Vasyl Osoba served and died.
“In other words, all funds will be transferred to the Armed Forces. I personally will not have those funds,” the linguist’s daughter assured.
She added that the claim for monetary compensation clearly spelled out the injuries Farion suffered and what a brutal murder it was.
“Therefore, 15 million will never compensate for the murder of Iryna Farion, but they will help our defenders on the front line to defend Ukraine,” said the Person.
In addition, during the session, one of Zinchenko’s lawyers, Yury Nemyrovskyi, asked the court to provide the defendant with additional protection during his arrival at and departure from the court. The defender motivated this by the fact that there are death threats against Zinchenko on social networks.
The court decided to grant Zinchenko’s defense request.
The next meeting in the case is scheduled for February 13.
