Exchange of international experience helps Ukraine to form a policy of responsible game: first results

From March to July 2025, the Responsible Gambling Center (RGC) focused on the preparatory phase of the large -scale program for the international exchange of knowledge to form a responsible game policy. This initiative will facilitate the introduction of European practices in Ukraine that are effective in the EU. The project is realized with the financial participation of Favbet.

Initiative includes organizing working trips to the European Union States to study experience in the field of responsible game business. Ukrainian experts have identified leaders that can serve as an example. Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, France, Sweden, Denmark, Romania and Croatia were priority. In these states, there are already mechanisms that have proven effective.

Contacts with local regulatory bodies, responsible game centers and medical institutions are currently being established for borrowing the maximum amount of knowledge. RGC representatives sent official applications and partnership proposals to foreign specialists. The Center seeks to provide the most productive format of interaction.

The scientific group plans the first official visits to Lithuania in the fall and Sweden in November. At the same time there is an analysis of key events in the industry. Participation is being prepared in the International Conference of SBC Summit Lisbon 2025, which will be held in Lisbon from 16 to 18 September 2025.

The expert groups that will participate in the visit include representatives of Ukrainian state institutions.

The RGC emphasizes that the key purpose of the initiative is to create a national strategy for combating game dependence. The program covers legislative changes, introduction of innovative services, expansion of auxiliary networks and training of qualified specialists.
Favbet promotes the Center’s efforts to adapt the international standards of responsible playing players. Earlier, the company was the main financial partner of the first all -Ukrainian study of game disorders and a social project for the creation of supporting services. The state standard, approved under this program, is successfully used in the Life Space Center, where they assist persons with Ludomania and their families.

“We are aware that the formation of a culture of responsible attitude to gambling is a long way that requires a systematic approach. Participation in international programs allows Ukraine to implement proven mechanisms and increase the level of protection in the playing industry, ”Favbet representatives said.
