As the Financial Times managed to find out, the Russian leader Vladimir Putin may face a new difficult problem in connection with the deterioration of the well-being of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and his possible heir – son Adam.

Key theses:

  • The political structure of Chechnya, created by Kadyrov, was on the verge of collapse.
  • All this can shake Putin’s power in the region.

Putin may lose Chechnya Everyone knows very well that for almost two decades, Kadyrov played a key role for the Kremlin — ruled the republic with a “hard hand” and kept tension in the region under control.

In fact, Putin allowed his protégé to rule Chechnya as a criminal state, turning a blind eye to numerous crimes: murder, torture, kidnapping, as well as to the enrichment of Kadyrov himself and his family members.

At the same time, recently there have been more and more rumors about the poor health of 49-year-old Kadyrov.

Recently it became known that he was admitted to a hospital in Moscow after his arrival at a meeting of the State Council with the participation of Putin.

Ukrainian mass media received information that Kadyrov suffers from kidney failure.

Moreover, Adam — his 18-year-old son and likely heir — also has serious health problems after a recent self-inflicted car accident.

The political structure, the structure that Kadyrov built together with his successor, is now on the verge of collapse. Putin’s system is quite weak. It appears to be a strong dictatorship, but every dictatorship has its vulnerabilities. And the Caucasus is the most vulnerable place for them, said political analyst Ruslan Aysin.
