Ukrainian energy company DTEK has successfully restored electricity to 219,000 households over the past week, following a series of attacks that left many without power.
From March 2 to March 8, DTEK teams managed to fully or partially restore electricity in 229 settlements impacted by hostile actions. The company reported that nearly 219,000 families now have access to power once again.
The most significant recovery efforts occurred in the Donetsk region, where 127,000 households regained electricity during the first week of March. In Dnipropetrovsk, over 77,100 families benefited from restored power after similar attacks.
In Kyiv, where energy infrastructure also faced bombardment, 13,300 families had their electricity restored within the same timeframe. Meanwhile, in Odesa, which remains a target for enemy strikes, power was restored to approximately 1,000 local households.
Additionally, in the Kyiv region, crews managed to restore electricity to nearly 300 homes affected by the attacks.
According to DTEK Network CEO Alina Bondarenko, the assault on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure has been relentless, but the company’s teams continue their efforts. “Despite everything, we have been working for 1,475 days to restore power. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, we have restored electricity to over 39.9 million households in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Donetsk, and the city of Kyiv. In some areas close to combat zones, we have restored power dozens of times,” Bondarenko stated.
DTEK emphasized that its teams are working tirelessly to address damage as quickly as possible. They begin repair work as soon as they receive permission and access to the damaged sites from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service.
