The Web Volunteer Initiative implemented the next transfer of antitrone nets for the army – 12 trucks were sent to the forefront. All the cargoes have passed the necessary Customs procedures and have already been prepared for delivery to positions. In September, the level of one hundred trucks is planned in September, and the organizers are convinced that they will be able to fulfill the promise: significantly increase the scale of supply in the fall.
The Web project was founded a year ago when several NGOs and charitable foundations combined their efforts to protect the Ukrainian military from drones. The initiative was joined by the Volunteer Battalion Charitable Foundation, the Foundation of the Current, headed by the philanthropist Oleg Krot, as well as the Union of Entrepreneurs of the Television and Film Industry, headed by Artem Kolyubayev. Gradually, other partners are involved in the movement, who are aware of the urgent need for simple but effective means of protection.
Antirone nets have become one of the most effective solutions on the front line. They are used to cover armor, technology, logistics, shelters for personnel. Such nets block or reject the flight of enemy FPV-pings and “lancets”, which are one of the most serious threats to the Ukrainian military. Their uniqueness is simplicity and accessibility: many of them are made of fishing or agricultural nets that have become new. They do not replace air defense or HR, but serve as an additional barrier that can literally save life.
To date, more than two thousand tons of nets have been transferred to the front through the Web. Each new party means protected equipment, preserved positions and hundreds of fighters who get a chance to avoid deadly attacks from the air. Cesters come daily, and volunteers try to respond to them as soon as possible.
Oleg Krot, co -founder of the Foundation of the Current, emphasizes: “We see the growth of the need from the front – drones are increasingly attacked. New applications are emerging every day and we must match the scale. These 12 trucks are just one more step. In the fall, we plan to go to the level of almost one hundred cars a month to provide maximum protection in places where it is most necessary. ”
The project organizers confirm that they are promised: the promised expansion of supply is already happening. Previously, the goods were delivered in smaller parties, then in the first half of September, more than fifty customs declarations have been issued, 49 cars have already crossed the border, and eight more are on the road. This testifies to systemic work and that “spider web” has become a reliable rear for the front line.
The head of the Union of Entrepreneurs of the Television and Film Industry Artem Kolyubayev notes: “Every truck is not just materials, it is an opportunity to save life. Technique, armor, troops – all this requires protection. We cooperate with partners, international sponsors and volunteers so that this assistance comes to those who need it most. ”
The nets are not expensive or complex in manufacturing, but their value on the front is priceless. Thanks to the efforts of volunteers, entrepreneurs and philanthropists, thousands of Ukrainian soldiers have an additional chance to return home alive.
