Destinus drone manufacturer plans to buy a Swiss company Daedalean for 180 million francs ($ 223 million) to strengthen the shi-capacity of their drones and hypersonic aircraft. About it reports Bloomberg.
Destinus releases a line of shock and reconnaissance UAVs-Lord, Ruta, Hornet, D, E, G, including with hypersonic models with shi-grating. Company products were shipped to Ukraine.
Daedalean specializes in autopillots and aviation systems based on machine learning and computer vision that are independent of satellites or GPS. Their solutions minimize human participation in flights.
At first, the company worked on electrolycies of vertical take -off for air taxi, but this direction was difficult to commercialize.
The agreement is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. It reflects an increase in interest in defense technologies in Europe against the background of increasing military budgets. Particular attention is paid to UAVs and non -existent systems that have become critical in Russia’s war against Ukraine, Bloomberg notes.
Other European startups in the field of drones – Helsing and Quantum Systems – recently attracted large rounds of funding.
In June, Destinus negotiated a new round of investment with a company at € 1.5 billion ($ 1.7 billion).
The founder and CEO Destinus, Mikhail Kokorych, stated that Daedalean technologies will allow his weapons to work without dependence on satellite navigation. This is important in the face of increasing the efficiency of Russian radio electronic fighting systems, the agency added.
According to Kokorich, companies already had joint projects, and now their development will be used in both the military and civilian spheres.
“It became obvious for all participants that the official association is a logical next step,” he said.
We will remind, in July Pentagon regulated the supply of 33,000 Shi complexes for Ukrainian drones worth $ 50 million at the Swiss company Auterion.
