Oleksandr Syrskyi visited the Kursk region. This was reported on January 1 in the social networks of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
“While working in the Kursk region, he awarded our brave soldiers,” the message said.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia’s losses in Kurshchyna amounted to more than 38,000 personnel and more than a thousand pieces of equipment.
Sirsky once again emphasized that the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of Russia forced it to maintain a significant grouping of forces on its own territory and transfer reserves from other directions in Ukraine.
During the hostilities in the Kursk region, Ukrainian servicemen captured 700 Russians. This contributed to the return of Ukrainian defenders from Russian captivity.
– We will continue to destroy the occupiers. And it doesn’t matter what passports they have: Russian or North Korean, – said Syrskyi.
- On August 12, 2024, Zelensky and Syrsky for the first time publicly acknowledged the start of the Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region.
- On December 31, 2024, the Special Operations Forces reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine occupied another settlement in Russia.
