The French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo appealed to the Paris Court because of the spread on social networks of counterfeit covers that simulate its style and promote anti -Ukrainian narratives. According to the editorial board on her official site, she knows about 15 counterfeits that have appeared over the past three years.
According to the newspaper, fakes use the Charlie Hebdo logo, signatures of real cartoonists and are almost indistinguishable from real editions. All fake Covers support the Kremlin propaganda and discredit President Vladimir Zelensky and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
– These images can mislead the ignorant readers and make a false impression that we share Putin’s views and his environment, – the editorial staff emphasized.
Fakes are actively spreading, emphasized in the publication, Telegram and on platform X (former Twitter). They are all aimed at undermining the reputation of Ukraine, the depreciation of European support of Kiev and the formation of a distorted idea of the position of the French edition.

The editorial stressed that she did not know who was behind the creation and dissemination of counterfeiters, so she went to court to initiate investigation and take legal measures to protect the newspaper’s reputation.
– We consider it our duty to publicly refute these counterfeits, because they are part of a large -scale media campaign, which is managed by the Kremlin propaganda machine, – the statement said.
Charlie Hebdo has called on the public to be vigilant, not to spread dubious content and to actively inform about the cases of fakes that are part of Russia’s information war against the democratic world.
