The team of researchers from Trumf and the Institute of Theoretical Physics “Perimeter” (PITP) developed the technique of modeling complex physical processes based on AI and Quantum calculations. The work was published in NPJ Quantum Information.
Simulation of particles collisions usually require enormous computing resources and time – sometimes weeks or months on supercomputers. Thanks to the quantum solution, including D-Wave Quantum technologies from California, researchers have been able to create a generative model that greatly accelerates simulations and reduces the analysis of large data rates.
Work is part of the global project aimed at preparing for the modernization of the Great Hadron Collider (LHC) in CERN. New methods are intended to relieve computing restrictions that can hinder the progress of researchers around the world.
“Combining deep learning with quantum technologies opens a new direction for both theory and applied solutions,”-said the researcher Havier Toledo-Marin with Trumf and Pitp.
The research was also joined by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), British Columbia University and Virginia University. The project became an example of inter -institutional and international cooperation, which enshrines the position of leader in the field of scientific innovation.
Recall that in June the quantum computer broke 22-bit RSA encryption.
