Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer arrived in Ukraine for the first time. In Kyiv, he will meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. This was reported by the British publication The Guardian.
Journalists linked Starmer’s visit with the fact that in a few days Donald Trump will return to the White House. Starmer is expected to discuss what security guarantees the UK can offer to Kyiv, including the possibility of British troops joining the peacekeeping force.
– The two countries will sign an agreement on partnership to deepen existing defense relations with the offer of further military assistance to Kyiv amid fears that the US may begin to wind down its support, the media reports.
Starmer’s visit comes after he met French President Emmanuel Macron in Britain on January 9. According to the Telegraph, the leaders discussed sending peacekeeping troops to Ukraine.
