The British can almost gift Brazil universal ships HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark.
We are talking about the HMS Albion (L14) landing and twitching ship and its “brother”-the HMS Bulwark (L15) ship. Both belong to Albion type.
These are very large ships. Each of them has a length of 176 m and a watertone of 20 thousand tons. One ship can carry more than 250 marines, as well as a variety of armored vehicles, including Challenger 2 tanks.
Interestingly, these are quite modern ships. HMS Albion was ordered by the royal naval fleet in June 1996. The ship was laid in 1998 and lowered in March 2001.
HMS Albion began to operate in 2003, and in November 2024 the newly elected Labor Government said the ships would be decommissioned by March 2025.
It should be noted that HMS Albion, together with HMS Bulwark, as well as HMS Ocean (L12) formed the basis of the Fleet of British Landing Ships.
Thus, after selling ships, Britain will not be able to perform full amphibious operations on its own. At the same time, Brazil, on the contrary, will turn into a rather powerful naval state.
It is also worth recalling that in 2018, London has already sold Brazil’s mentioned HMS Ocean helicopter. The ship was sold for only £ 80 million.
British fleet is the latest newsRecall that last year the British lowered the atomic submarine HMS Agamemnon. It became the sixth of the planned seven submarines of the Astute type. They are considered the most powerful shock submarines, ever built for the British Navy.
And recently, UNIAN reported that the British military was involved in a nuclear submarine to make a warning of a Russian intelligence vessel that was located near the place of strategically important cables at the bottom of the sea.
