Unlike conventional ASIC, which is usually obsolete in 3-5 years, Proto Rig is designed for 10 years of operation. As indicated on the site of the project, the device provides:

• capacity up to 9.4 kW by one foot (~ 30 cm) occupied space with three power supplies and nine stake in one chassis;
• energy efficiency at 14.1 J/th;
• air cooling;
• Repair in the rack for 90 seconds without tools.

The user can replace fan modules and hasps without dismantling the entire system. The non -fan supply and three -phase energy distribution increase the efficiency of infrastructure.

According to the head of the hardware direction, Block Thomas Templeton, the current solutions “are often broken, it is difficult to repair them, and modernization requires considerable costs.” The new product of the company is intended to solve these problems and promote decentralization of mining.
