Binance cryptocurrency asked the court to reject the claim of FTX bankrupt with claims to pay $ 1.76 billion. The company’s lawyers called claims legally unjustified and urged to stop the proceedings.
The claim was filed in November 2023. It concerns an agreement in 2021, within which FTX bought out 20% of its own shares in Binance, paying crypto assets, including BNB, Busd and FTT. FTX representatives claim that the agreement was financed at the expense of clients, and Chanpeen Zhao’s public statements allegedly accelerated bankruptcy of the exchange.
Binance rejected the accusation, indicating that the FTX collapse is not related to this operation, and an attempt to shift responsibility to third parties is groundless. The company reminded that Sam Bankman-Frieda was sentenced to 25 years for fraud, and the platform itself acted for 16 months after the Binance Agreement.
Defense also noted that Binance was not subject to the US jurisdiction, and Zhao did not take his personal involvement in the operation.
Recall that in April FTX filed a lawsuit against the Delysium game platform due to non -payment of tokens.
