The Armenian Parliament has passed a law on EU membership in the second and final reading. This was reported on March 26 by “News-Virgin”.
The National Assembly of Armenia voted in favor of the bill on Wednesday at the next meeting. The law of the law speaks of the start of the country’s membership process in the European Union, but does not provide for the application.
– Armenia, aiming to develop democratic institutions, increase society, strengthen the country’s security, sustainability and the advantage of law, announces the start of the EU membership process, – said in the preface of the document.
Deputy Foreign Minister Armenia Paruyr Ovanisyan said that within the next months it is planned to approve a new agenda for partnership, which includes short -term, medium -term and long -term actions aimed at even more convergence with the European Union.
64 deputies voted in favor of the bill, and seven. There were no those who abstain, but the opposition faction “Ayastan” did not participate in the vote. The “Honor” faction voted against, writes “Armenpress”.
