Criminal authority Armen Horlivskyi was charged in absentia for participating in Russia’s war against Ukraine. This was reported by the SBU and the National Police on December 4. According to the investigation, the 46-year-old criminal authority from Horlivka, which was occupied in 2014, has been recruiting prisoners for the war against Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
– After the start of a full-scale war, the criminal received a task from the FSB to create a new armed formation for the war against Ukraine. The combat group headed by Sarkisian was named “Separate Special Forces Battalion “ArBAT”. The base of the occupation formation is made up of recidivists who have been convicted of murder, robbery and other serious crimes, the SBU said.
According to counterintelligence data, ArBAT initially fought in the Toretsk direction, and later the group was transferred to Kurshchyna to storm the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. In addition, Armen Sargsyan uses companies under his control to purchase thermal imagers, fuel and building materials for the needs of the occupiers on the front lines.
Armen Sargsyan is a member of the close circle of the fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych and since May 2014 he has been on an international wanted list for organizing murders in the center of Kyiv.
