The junior sergeant of the 95th Brigade of DShv Konstantin Kartavtsev He handed Donald Trump’s personal golf. The paratrooper handed Kiy with the engraving “Let’s Putt Peace Together!” (“Let’s build peace together!”) President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, and at a meeting of the heads of states presented him to the United States.

Constantine has been in defense of the country since the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion, replenishing the ranks of the 95th Brigade of DShV. He lost his leg while saving his brothers in 2023.

Golf came to Konstantin’s life during the recovery, and this sport unexpectedly helped the warrior to find a balance, calmly and needed to get to the system again.

This and another Konstantin Kartavtsev revealed in conversation with Briefly about.

Golf – is good for rehabilitation – What helped you adapt to the prosthesis? What is the most important thing about it? How not to break morally?

– Family, sports, and most of all – the desire for ordinary life. The main thing is to determine motivation and be persistent.

In the psychological sense, I personally had no problem. It was not my first wound, I was used to such things, but when he was in the hospital, I felt happiness from what remained alive.

Similar feelings, according to observations, have most guys with the same injuries I had to communicate with.

– Why became part of your recovery and sports?

– In my opinion, golf is best suited, because, first of all, it is not very forceful in load and lifts a mental state. I played the role and personal factor – I liked the game myself.

– What exactly gives you golf: physical form, mental harmony, freedom?

– All you listed, plus it very unloads morally. The field has comfortable conditions: a small number of people, good nature, fresh air, and the essence of the game is that the full concentration must be released.

– In your opinion, golf is an event for rich or democratic sport?

-Those who have at least a little playing some sports know that it requires costs, like any hobby. I note that fishing also costs money.

From this point of view, golf is no different. The only thing, in my opinion, takes more time.

– Have you played in veterans tournaments – you plan to develop sports activities?

– Golf is at least my hobby. Last year, with a team of veterans, I was in competitions in Munich.

– Why did you choose the Kick for Donald Trump?

– It was a common decision – mine and comrades on the game. Knowing that he plays golf, the choice became natural.

– Tell us more about the key to the US President. What is its symbolism? I heard it played veterans.

– This is my kii I was engaged. It was once published by the organizers – the founders of the sports club “United golf” (a public movement that uses golf for rehabilitation and social adaptation of combatants. – Avt.). These are the people who have been working with us for over two years: Natalia Tereshchuk, Oleg Korban and coach Bogdan Cheperdak.

Now the “united golf” has grown, but at first it was this three to go to the reab -centers, took us to the field, bought balls and other equipment, searched for friends and acquaintances to help us with golfaries and buy other things. I am very happy to be involved in this community.

A fishing rod, not fish – What would you say to Donald Trump at a personal meeting?

– In order to go down in history with the Ukrainian issue, it is necessary to ensure a strong peace, and Ukraine must speak from strong positions. We need help to become powerful to restrain Russia.

If they have not changed for almost fifty years, it is useless to expect it in the future. Western countries have already crossed the stage of the “imperialist spirit” and have reached a different level of development, applying their own measures to the Russian Federation, but there is a completely different consciousness.

I would like to explain this and much more about our country in an informal atmosphere. Because it is not just about weapons. Economics, politics, government management, Ukraine’s total capacity, to help create, so to say, “European gendarme” – it would be profitable for our people and the continent as a whole. No other state except the US is capable of it. Also prove that such a “long game” will save the costs of our allies in the future. We need a fishing rod rather than fish if you understand what I mean.

– What does the phrase “let’s puttt peace together” mean to you?

– Peace to me is the inability of the enemy to attack us in the future. The idea is “peace through power”, not defeat, and US assistance is important.

– If you were able to play a golf party with Trump or other world leader – who would be invited and why?

– I would like to meet with Trump. As the leader of the most powerful state, he has more than other opportunities to bring us closer to victory. If it was possible to change his position and help our country a little, I will take any chance.

– If there was an opportunity to communicate with a well -known person not in politics, but for example, from sports?

– I would like to talk to boxer Denis Berinchik. He is pretty as a person.

– Do you have a personal dream not related to either war or sports?

– a house in Demidov (Kyiv region) to live other brothers and there are fewer peaceful neighbors. This is the house of my brother in Demidov – for me this place of power. There are wonderful landscapes, forest, river on the outskirts of a village where there are few people. And so I already have everything necessary for happiness.
