The man is charged with negligence in performance father’s duties He didn’t pay enough attention to his underage daughter who stole an item from the Epicenter. Information about this is contained in the decision of the Obolon District Court of the city of Kyiv, published on August 12, 2025.

On July 18, 2025, a female minor, while in the “Epicentr” shopping center, committed a small theft of an item worth 598 hryvnias including VAT, therefore the father does not fulfill the obligations specified in Art. 150 of the Family Code of Ukraine and Art. 12 of the Law of Ukraine “On Childhood Protection”. By his actions, he committed an administrative violation, provided for in Part 1 of Art. 184 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses. The citizen did not come to the courtroom, the day and time of the trial was duly notified by the court by sending a summons to the judicial institution dated July 28, 2025. There were no requests to postpone the hearing.

What penalty was imposed by the court? The court found the man guilty of committing an administrative offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 184 of the Labor Code of Ukraine. An administrative penalty in the form of a warning was imposed on him.

“Taking into account that the court took the necessary measures to guarantee the presence of the husband at the court session, the case is scheduled for consideration on August 8, 2025, the offender did not appear in court, the reasons for his absence in court were recognized as unimportant, in order to ensure a reasonable term for the consideration of the case, to ensure the possibility of timely prosecution of the person in case of guilt and to avoid the avoidance of irresponsibility, taking into account the completeness of the available materials, the court concludes that the case can be resolved in his absence, since the conditions of Article 268 of the Code of Criminal Procedure do not contain a categorical provision regarding his presence in the court session during the consideration of this category of cases. of the year; by the order of the Obolonsky district administration on the appointment of a guardian, by the certificate of the “Epicentr K” LLC about the damages in the total amount of 598 hryvnias including VAT, by the written testimony of the minor, which is in the case file, the court concluded that the actions of the citizen Article 184 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, when imposing a penalty, takes into account the nature of the violation and the degree of guilt of the offender. Taking into account the nature of the offense, the person of the violator, who is brought to administrative responsibility for the first time, the judge believes that he should be imposed an administrative penalty, provided for by the sanction of Part 1 of Article 184 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, in the form of a warning,” the court emphasized.
