“Law and Justice” will support the head of the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland for the post of president. This was announced on November 24 in the social networks of the party.
– Karol Nawrocki is a candidate for the President of the Republic of Poland! – said in the message.
According to the Polish publication RMF 24, a PiS congress was held in Krakow on Sunday. Navrotsky will run as an independent candidate, but the party will support him.
On October 3, Karol Nawrocki named Halychyna “Eastern Lesser Poland”, commenting on the issue of the exhumation of the victims of the Volyn tragedy to the Polish publication Interia. The former head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, People’s Deputy Volodymyr Viatrovych wrote on his Facebook about this that Galicia was called this term in 1922-1939, and the reason for its introduction then “was exclusively political.” Viatrovych believes that this term does not speak of honoring the memory of fallen Poles, but of regret for the lost territories that never became Polish.
Karol Navrotskyi heads the Institute of National Remembrance from 2021, he is 41 years old. Nawrocki is a graduate of the Institute of History of the University of Gdańsk, Doctor of Humanities.
The current president of Poland, Andrzej Duda, is also a candidate from the Law and Justice party.
Presidential elections in Poland will be held in May 2025.
