Zelenskyy has reshuffled diplomatic missions: who has been fired

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reshuffled Ukrainian ambassadors. The corresponding decrees appeared on Saturday, December 21. This is reported by the Office of the President. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reshuffled Ukrainian ambassadors. The corresponding decrees appeared on Saturday, December 21.

The president dismissed a number of ambassadors of Ukraine, including:

  • Andrii Pravednyk, who held the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Rwanda;
  • Andrii Taran, Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia;
  • Petro Beshta, Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania;
  • Serhiy Korsunskyi, Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan;
  • Vasyl Hamyanin, ambassador of Ukraine to Indonesia and representative of Ukraine at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations;
  • Emine Japarova, who held the position of representative of Ukraine at international organizations in Vienna;
  • Yevgenia Filipenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

In addition, Zelenskyi dismissed the ambassador of Ukraine to China, Pavlo Ryabikin. He was appointed to this position in April 2023. Before that, Ryabikin was the head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, and in 2021-2023 he headed the Ministry of Strategic Industries.

The president also dismissed Serhii Kyslytsa from the post of Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN and the post of Ambassador of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

The President appointed Vyacheslav Yatsyuk to the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Rwanda.

Also, Zelenskyi replaced the head of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO affairs. Iryna Borovets was dismissed from her position, and Maryana Betsa – deputy minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine – was appointed in her place.

The President also signed a number of decrees on the appointment of new ambassadors of Ukraine, in particular:

  • Vyacheslav Yatsyuk was appointed to the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Rwanda;
  • Yulia Fediv as ambassador to the Philippines;
  • Olga Nikitchenko as ambassador to Lithuania;
  • Fedor Sandor as ambassador to Hungary;
  • Petar Beshta as ambassador to Slovenia;
  • Vasyl Hamyanin as ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo;
  • Yevgenia Tsymbalyuk as the representative of Ukraine at the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

Also, Zelenskyi replaced the head of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO affairs. Iryna Borovets was dismissed from her position, and Maryana Betsa – deputy minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine – was appointed in her place.

Recently, the Government dismissed Anton Drobovych from the position of head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Oleksandr Karasevich from the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Netherlands.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Deputy Minister of Justice Olena Vysotska. Government officials also dismissed three state secretaries: Nataliya Zapolska from the Ministry of Strategy and Industry, Viktor Kantsurak from Minagro, and Dmytro Slobodianyuk from the Ministry of Health.

On November 5, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dismissed Yuriy Dzhigyr from the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov.
