The Office of the President of Ukraine noted that special attention was paid during the meeting to the issue of strengthening the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces, especially during the winter period. In his Telegram, Zelensky called the meeting with Rutte “important and very meaningful.”
“The main topics of our negotiations are the strengthening of air defense for Ukraine and the reliability of peace, which we are all bringing closer together,” the president said.
He also expressed his gratitude to the NATO Secretary General and “all partners for their willingness to more actively strengthen our air shield, as well as work together for effective security guarantees.”
“The Alliance will do everything to make Ukraine as strong as possible, whenever we move to more active diplomacy,” Zelenskyi said.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the alliance is aware of the need to supply 19 air defense systems to protect critical infrastructure at Ukraine’s request.

“This is good news because it means more weapons for Ukraine, as well as money for the Ukrainian economy. So this is a very practical way to support you,” said the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance.
