The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, reported on the tense but controlled situation in the energy sector. He listened to the report of Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko and deputy prime ministers on the consequences of Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure and problems caused by difficult weather conditions.
According to the head of state, emergency situations have been recorded in various cities and communities throughout the country. At the same time, the state mobilized all possible resources to restore stable energy supply as soon as possible. “The Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Deputy Prime Minister reported today on energy — on the emergency situation in our various cities and communities due to Russian strikes and severe weather. The maximum number of resources is used throughout the country,” Zelenskyi said.
The President emphasized that now tens of thousands of people are actually working non-stop. These include repair crews, utilities, energy companies, and emergency units that repair damage and keep the system running. “Literally tens of thousands of people now work in repair crews, in communal services, in energy companies,” he emphasized.
The head of state separately drew attention to the importance of coordination of actions between all levels of government, as well as the interaction of state structures with business and critical infrastructure. “We need to continue such joint work at all levels of government and between government and business, all institutions, all services,” Zelenskyy said.
He noted that it is coordinated work that allows us to respond more quickly to shocks and weather challenges, restore the supply of light, heat and water and reduce the consequences for people. The authorities assure that the situation in the energy sector remains under constant control, and all services work in an intensified mode to provide the country with the necessary resources even in the conditions of war and difficult winter.
