During the formation of the new government, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy considered at least three applicants for a key position of the Minister of Defense.
It is reported by Ukrainian Truth.
Among the candidates were Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko, Viceremer-Minister of Innovation Mikhail Fedorov and Presidential Advisor on Strategic Issues Alexander Kamyshin.
However, none of the candidates considered was able to get a position for various reasons. Klimenko personally refused the proposal of the Head of State.
Fedorov and Kamyshin “squeezed” because of problematic relations with the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, which could complicate their work in such an important position.
According to sources, the Ministry of Defense is needed by a person who “24/7 lives with war, understands the real state of affairs, can give advice with the budget of such a scale and is able to establish management processes.”
We will remind, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Construction supported the resignation of Prime Minister Denis Shmigal on July 16.
Yulia Sviridenko also expressed her gratitude to President Vladimir Zelensky for his trust and declared her readiness to serve Ukraine at the decisive moment of her history.
