In Ukraine, the excise duty on tobacco will increase. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the relevant law at number 11090.
This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zaliznyak in a telegram.
Now the excise duty on cigarettes will bind to the euro, not to the hryvnia. It will gradually grow and approach the minimum requirements of the EU.

Zaliznyak added that the signing of the bill was delayed, and the budget of Ukraine has lost more than UAH 2 billion from January 1.
On March 22, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a bill # 11090 on raising excise duty on tobacco products. The document was submitted in December 2024.
