Putin needs a truce on May 9 to quietly hold a parade. And Ukraine has been waiting for the ceasefire since March 11 to save people’s lives.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in the evening address, responding to Putin’s proposal to establish silence regime from May 8 to May 10.
Zelensky reminded that Ukraine responded positively to the American offer of complete silence on March 11. She also suggested that Russia stop strikes at least by civilian objects, at least on them. She also suggested to make full and continue for 30 days of ceasefire for Easter. Russia constantly rejects it and manipulates the world, tries to deceive the United States.
“Now again, another manipulation attempt: for some reason everyone has to wait on May 8 and only then stop the fire to provide Putin’s silence for the time of the parade. We value people’s lives, not parades. That is why we think – the world thinks – that there is no reason to wait on May 8. And the fire should not be stopped for a few days, then to kill again. Immediate, full and unconditional ceasefire – and at least 30 days to be guaranteed and reliably – is what can give the basis of real diplomacy, ”the President said.
We will remind that in the Kremlin stated that Vladimir Putin made a decision to introduce the so-called “truce” on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of “Victory Day”.
The White House stated that such a ceasefire is not enough, Trump seeks to achieve true and constant peace.
