The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi expressed a categorical position against lowering the mobilization age. He believes that such a step will only increase the number of unarmed soldiers at the front.

This is reported by Bloomberg.

According to the current legislation of Ukraine, men over the age of 25 are subject to conscription, but even in this case there are restrictions governing the possibility of joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Despite calls from the United States and other Western allies to lower the conscription age, Zelenskyi emphasizes that it is more important for Ukraine to get weapons and missiles than to increase the number of soldiers.

“Why mobilize even more young people? So that there would be even more people without weapons?” – emphasized the president.
