President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of the laws on “On extension of martial law in Ukraine” and “On extension of the term of general mobilization”
This is stated in the projects No. 13172 and No. 13173.
According to the documents, martial law and mobilization will be extended from May 9, 2025 to 90 days until August 6.
Zelensky proposes the Verkhovna Rada approved the Presidential Decree on the continuation of martial law and mobilization.
The Verkhovna Rada approved the Presidential Decree on Martial Law and Mobilization in the morning of February 24, 2022 for 30 days. After that, the terms continued, first for a month, and from May 2022 – for three months.
During martial law in the country, there may be such prohibitions and restrictions on:
- movement (traveling abroad, verification of documents, commandant hour);
- the right to work and business;
- the right to secrecy of correspondence and telephone conversations;
- the right to freedom of speech, media activities, political parties;
- Conducting elections and referendums.
The volume and order of mobilization in Ukraine is determined by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky amended the Regulations on the General Staff of the Armed Forces, according to a decree published on the website of the Head of State.
President Zelensky also signed a law that restores the rights of military personnel to dismiss from service during martial law for the reasons for the death or disappearance of their dislike brother or sister or sister.
