Since the start of the full-scale war, domestic arms production in Ukraine has increased significantly, but the country still needs support from the European Union (EU) and the United States of America (USA).
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced this during a briefing with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
According to the president, at the beginning of the war, the share of Ukrainian weapons was less than 10% of the total needs. Today, however, this proportion has increased to 33–34%, which is a significant improvement. At the same time, Europe covers about 30% of needs, and the USA – 40%.
Zelenskyi also noted that it is important for Ukraine to maintain equal relations with Europe and the States, as this is important for security guarantees. One of the key issues for discussion with the US is future security guarantees, as well as aid in the form of weapons, where Ukraine needs more equipment, including tanks, aircraft and rotorcraft.
