President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to the participants of the 27th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine (Ramstein format) to focus on strengthening air defense. He stressed that Ukraine needs ten Patriot air defense systems.
“I speak to you today from Kryvyi Rih. This city is experiencing almost constant air alarm due to drones and Russian missiles. Ballistic missiles are the greatest threat. Our people, our children are attacked in many cities and villages – Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Zaporozhye, Sumy, Kharkiv, Odesa, Chernihiv and many others. All these cities need protection against Russian rockets. Ukraine has a shortage of air defense systems, and Patriot systems can effectively protect against ballistic threats, ”Zelensky said during a meeting at the meeting.
Earlier, we wrote that the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov reported that work with other countries was underway to obtain another Patriot air defense system.
Also we will remind that Germany has recently handed over 30 missiles for Patriot to Ukraine and prepares further air defense systems, armored vehicles, drones and other necessary equipment.
