According to Zelensky, Ukraine unites the best, and it has already made a common opinion of many that only with Ukraine can be achieved guaranteed security for democratic nations.
“Let anyone who has made their own contribution to such power of Ukrainian colors will hear the words of gratitude today. This is absolutely deserved, ”the Head of State added.
It should be reminded that officially the State Flag Day was enshrined in the Presidential Decree Leonid Kuchma No. 987/2004 “On the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine” of August 23, 2004.
In 2009, Viktor Yushchenko initiated the annual nationwide ceremony of his raising, as stated in Decree No. 602/2009 “On Amendments to the Presidential Decree of August 23, 2004 N 987”.
Since then, on August 23, blue and yellow flags have been raised across Ukraine, paying tribute to our history, freedom fighters and every Ukrainian who today wins independence under this symbol.
