President Volodymyr Zelenskyy positively assessed the outcome of negotiations with the US in Switzerland, but noted that “very difficult” work on the final peace plan lies ahead. The head of state said this in an evening address after the report of the Ukrainian team that returned from Geneva.
Zelensky said that after negotiations with the American side and European partners, “the list of necessary steps to end the war may become operational.”
“As of now, after Geneva, there are fewer points, no longer 28, and many correct things have been taken into account in this framework. There is still something to work on together – it is very difficult – to make the final document, and everything must be done with dignity,” the president said.
He added that Ukraine appreciates the fact that “most of the world is ready to help us” and that the American side is constructive.
The president said that the Ukrainian delegation reported to him on the new project of steps to achieve peace, repeating that he will discuss “sensitive things, sensitive things” directly with his American colleague Donald Trump.
“Ukraine will never be an obstacle to peace – this is our principle, a common principle, and millions of Ukrainians expect and deserve a decent peace. We will do everything for this, we are ready to work as quickly as possible,” Zelensky emphasized.

The Kremlin said that they had not received an updated “peace plan” after Geneva.
Also Marco Rubio stated that the “peace plan” for Ukraine is based on the proposals of Russia and Ukraine.
