President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy listened to the report of the first deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Oleg Luhovskyi and instructed the SSR to provide partners with new information about Russia’s attempts to expand its tanker fleet. Luhovskyi also informed the president about the non-public approaches of the partners in communication with Russia and their real attitude towards Ukraine and the negotiations at the current stage.
Zelensky reported this in a telegram.
“He also instructed the SSR to provide partners with new information regarding Russia’s attempt to expand the tanker fleet. Thanks to our pressure measures on the shadow fleet, coordinated with some states, at least 20% of the ships in the fleet have stopped, and Russia is trying to compensate for this loss by attracting new ships. All of them should be added to the sanctions lists,” says Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, the sanctions pressure will continue on the teams of tankers, captains, insurers and the entire infrastructure of the shadow fleet.
In addition, the president noted that “restrictions on Russian sea oil exports, which are currently in place, should reduce Russian revenues by at least $30 billion annually.”
“Additional pressure will definitely increase this amount of Russian losses, and therefore will reduce the financing of the Russian war. We will also inform our partners about new schemes of Chinese companies that help Russia circumvent sanctions against the financial sector,” Zelenskyy added.
Zelensky called for support for protests and the overthrow of the regime in Iran.
