President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported this in his telegram-channel, referring to a conversation with Canada Prime Minister Mark Karney.
Zelensky thanked Canada for military, financial support and sanctions against Russia. He said that the needs of Ukraine were discussed during the conversation, including strengthening of air defense systems with additional missiles, as well as an increase in funding for joint production of drones, including interceptors.
“They also talked about sanctions against Russia. In Moscow, they are very afraid of them, though they pretend that it will not change anything. The data of our intelligence testify to another. Therefore, it is important to increase the sanction pressure and force the aggressor to peace. We will provide the necessary steps, ”the President emphasized.
During the conversation, they mentioned the last meeting with Russia in Istanbul, where the Ukrainian delegation insisted on ceasefire. Zelensky added that it is necessary to stop the murder and strikes on civil and critical infrastructure, and the answer to the proposal to meet at the leaders level is still awaiting.
In addition, the President thanked Canada for the support of the bill, which guarantees the independence and efficiency of anti -corruption bodies in Ukraine and protects them from Russian interventions.
“Mark with Mark is the same position: it is important that on July 31, the Verkhovna Rada approved this bill as a whole,” Zelensky summed up.
Meanwhile on July 27 PResident of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky entered into force a decision of the National Security and Defense Council on new sanctions against companies and individuals that support Russian aggression. Restrictions will affect dozens of individuals and legal entities, in particular with r axes, China, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Some of them are related to the supply of military technology for r axes bypassing international sanctions.
Ukraine expects that the next, 19th package of European Union sanctions against Russian Federation will be directed against the “shadow fleet captains”, military-industrial complex (MIC) and non-confectory financial transactions.
