Zelensky honored 300 defenders of Ukraine, 75 posthumously

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded state awards to 300 National Guardsmen, policemen, rescuers and border guards for their courage and dedication. Among them, 75 were awarded posthumously, because they died defending the country. The relevant decree No. 1010/2025 of December 30, 2025 was published on the President’s website. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded state awards to 300 National Guardsmen, policemen, rescuers and border guards for their courage and dedication. Among them, 75 were awarded posthumously, because they died defending the country. The relevant decree No. 1010/2025 of December 30, 2025 was published on the President’s website.

These awards were given for personal courage, bravery in the defense of state sovereignty, territorial integrity of Ukraine and service to the Ukrainian people.

The defenders received honorary awards, including the “Combat Merit Cross”, the orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, “For Merit”, “For Courage”, Danylo Halytskyi, as well as medals “For Military Service to Ukraine”, “For Impeccable Service”, “Defender of the Fatherland” and “For Saved Life”.

“These people risk their lives every day to protect our freedom. We will always remember their feat and honor their courage,” the President emphasized.
